Magda Aghababyan

CEO/ Director Magda Aghababyan brings over a decade experience in Business Administration and Management, in a wide array of industries and cultures. Magda has a MBA from the American University of Armenia and a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute. Before founding Co-Energi, she was influential in building the Insurance Domain expertise and enhancing Business Analysis profession in Virtusa, the Global IT Services Company with its roots in Sri Lanka. She has over seven years of experience working for the Global Operations of the IBM’s Mainframe Division in the USA headquarters, covering diverse functional areas.

Vidhura Ralapanawe

Senior Sustainablility Consultant (External)   Vidhura Ralapanawe has counts over 8 years of experience in the apparel industry as a technical specialist in sustainability, resource efficiency and green building design. He is a graduate in Engineering from University of Moratuwa and holds a Masters in Responsibility & Business Practice at the University of Bath, UK and currently reading for a Doctorate in Organizational Change at Ashridge Business School, UK. His career spanning over 15 years includes renewable energy, climate research and communications. He headed the design team of MAS Intimates Thurulie, the eco-manufacturing plant of MAS Holdings. Considered as ‘iconic’ by Marks & Spencer, Thurulie is the world’s first purpose built ‘eco’ apparel manufacturing plant. He also headed the LEED certification process for Thurulie, which resulted in a LEED Platinum certification by the US Green Building Council, making it the first new-built apparel factory in the world to reach Platinum. The plant has been featured in journals such as the Economist, and won the Globe Award for Sustainability Innovation 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden

Dr. Rahula Attalage

Senior Technical Consultant (External) Dr. Attalage graduated from University of Moratuwa in Mechanical Engineering with Honours and obtained his Masters Degree in Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He also possesses a Degree of Profound Studies obtained from Ecole des Mines de Paris, France from where he obtained his PhD. Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, Visiting faculty member in the Energy Programme of the Asian Institute of Technology Thailand, Member of the Board of Directors of Sri Lanka Transport Board and Visiting Professor in the International Corporation Centre for Engineering Education Department at Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan are some of the positions he has held locally and overseas. He has also worked on the MAS Intimates Thurulie plant design project, as the Consultant to the Energy and HVAC design, construction and LEED certification. He is the present Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa.  

Eng. Kelum Perera

Senior HVAC Consultant (external) Kelum Perera has over 15 years of experience in the fields of HVAC design, steam & plumbing design and facility maintenance. He has extensive experience of consultation, design, implementation and commissioning of the A/C projects across various industries both in Sri Lanka and abroad. His experience also includes piping design, fire systems, steam and thermal systems and cold room implementations.

Eng. S. M Mohamed Rifai

Senior Electrical Consultant (external) Mohamed Rifai has 12 years of experience in the fields of Electrical design and Energy & Sustainability consultancy. His previous work experience includes local and international consultancy as part of Sigma Sustainability Institute (Pte) Ltd and Amithi Power Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. companies. Before consultancy, he was a project engineer at the Holcim Lanka Ltd. He has extensive experience of consultation, design, implementation and commissioning of the electrical systems, and energy management solutions for facilities ranging from individual buildings to mega cities. Additionally he is experienced in the conceptual design and studies for the wind power generation projects.
